Tickets now on sale for Party No.2

Winter League

This year the Winter League is holding two End-of-Season Presentation Events to meet the demand that resulted in insufficient tickets being avaialble last year.

Last year all 135 tickets were snapped up within 36 hours of going on sale for the Lindley Liberal Club event and many bowlers were disappointed to miss out on a great occasion.

Things have been changed to help address that situation with two End-of-Season parties being held this year. The first is at Netherton Conc on Friday 5 April and 120 of the 135 tickets have been sold for that event with only a few still available for late-comers. This first event is aimed at bowlers and teams that have played in Divisions 4, 5 and 6 over the past winter season.

Tickets are now available for the second party. This is to be held at Lindley Liberal Club on Friday 26 April starting at 1.30pm and is primarily for bowlers, teams and their supporters that have played in Divisions 1, 2 and 3 during the season just completed. Over 50 tickets have already been reserved to date. Reserve your tickets now at jefftheref2000@yahoo.co.uk

By the party date we will also know the winner and runner-up in the Winter Cup competition which attracted 142 initial entries and they will both be presented with their trophies in front of the gathering.

Entertainment will be provided by the talented duo known as Inuendo who specialise in songs and music from the 1950s and 60s which will appeal to the age groups of our bowlers providing many sing-along moments no doubt and the traditonal pie 'n' peas will again be included in your ticket price of £4.

There will be the presentation of trophies for the teams to top the end of season top three divisions and also for the top bowlers from each of the top three divisions. Add to that a game of stand-up bingo to involve all who wish to participate and as usual a raffle will be drawn with countless prizes to be won. It promises to be another great party to go down in Winter League folklore so make sure that you are there.

It is the same format that attracted 135 people to last years event which proved to be so enjoyable and tickets are now available for the 2024 version. Team captains are asked to co-ordinate ticket numbers from their teams to ensure that seat reservations will keep teams together.

You can reserve your tickets now by emailing me at jefftheref2000@yahoo.co.uk with your requirements. Those tickets will remain reserved for you for 7 days during which time you are expected to complete the sale by paying for them. There are two ways you can do this. By cash or by a BACS trasfer of the funds. We do not accept cheques as these incur charges for processing.

So contact your team captain now to make sure that you are on your team's list of bowlers and supporters wishing to attend this 2nd party. Demand is expected to be high but we are hopeful that the new format will ensure that everyone who wishes to be there can get a ticket this year. We are holding some tickets back for teams and individuals who are to receive awards but if these are not taken up shortly then they will become available on open sale. Over to you.

Looking at the previous poster the duo do mainly 80's onwards, although the odd oldie might be performed.

Their advertising literature says that they feature songs from Cher, Shania Twain, Elvis, Elton John and Queen among others. Singalong time.
