A preview of the fixtures scheduled for Tuesday 29 April in the Veterans 10-Man League

Two teams with unbeaten Division 1 records to date go up against each other this Tuesday at Golcar Lib where Kirkheaton Con A are the visitors. The early leaders, Longwood, are also unbeaten as are Clayton West who will both be looking to extend those sequencoes when they line up this Tuesday. Longwood have a home match against a promoted Meltham team still looking for a first win whilst Clayton West go to Cowcliffe.
Joining Meltham on the 'nil wins' positions are Waterloo, Lindley Lib A and Lockwood Con. All would like to end that losing sequence with two of the bottom four facing each other so either Lindley Lib A or Lockwood Con A will record a first win and home advantage could be key in presenting Lindley Lib A with that opportunity. Bottom-of-the-table, Waterloo, also have home advantage when they take on a Rastrick side that has experienced two extremes in their two matches to date. An opening away 0-9 defeat at Longwood was followed the following week with a 7-2 home win over the current Division 1 Champions Lowerhouses, who incidently were the last team to beat them 9-0 (13th August 2024).
Lowerhouses and Marsh United A are locked together in 5th and 6th positions on the same points total of nine but that is about to change when they meet this Tuesday. Both teams are lower in the table then they would expect to be and one of them will improve their standing as a result of this meeting.

The two Elland based teams continue to set the pace at the top of the Division 2 table with both of them facing away fixtures this Tueday. Elland WMC will be looking to reduce the 3-points gap to the leaders when they travel south to play a Denby Dale team still smarting from a 0-9 good hiding they suffered at Elland C&BC two weeks ago.
Elland C&BC have a three-points lead at the top and have the more difficult encounter scheduled when they go to play Milnsbridge A who are one of the three teams level on 10-points behind the top two. It would be a good day for the Milnsbridge team to win as they are the only team in the top half of the table with a home fixture this week.
Almondbury BC A and Broad Oak A are the other two teams on 10-points and both are away from home this week. Almondbury BC A go to play New Mill A whilst Broad Oak A travel to play a Thongsbridge A side looking for a first win of the season. Netherton Con A are the final top half team with an away match this week as they travel to play bottom-of-the-table Lindley BC A who are suffering a bad reaction to their relegation last season. The remaining fixture is between two teams on the edge of the relegation zone as Shepley and Golcar Lib B play each other sitting in 8th and 9th places with more than pride at stake.
