Winter League
The Winter League continues to suffer the impact of last weekend's snow storms and the subsequent freezing temperatures which have prevented the much-wanted thaw from materialising. That problem continues with the latest casualty being the Division 6 matches at Netherton Con which were originally lost on Thursday 9 January and then rearranged for tomorrow (Tuesday 14 January). They are postponed for a second time and are now rearranged to be played on Tuesday 28 January.
Netherton Cons Greenkeeper, Geoff Dyson, is much more optimistic about the Thursday fixtures this week with the forecast for temperatures reaching double figures by Tuesday. With the snow turning to ice on bowling greens there is still work to be done by the sun and the greenkeepers to make greens playable for the second half of the week but we are hopeful that will be the case.
We still await to hear from Cowcliffe and Lockwood Cons about their fixtures scheduled for Tuesday but fear the thaw wont come in time to help them. Whatever the situation you will learn about it first here on HuddWeb.
The latest position with all our League and KO competitions are included on our Bowlsnet pages at all times. Alternatively keep refreshing the HuddWeb Home Page for the breaking news.
The Division 5 Qualifying Round of the Winter Cup at Lindley Lib which was a casualty of the weather on Friday 3 January has now been rearranged for Friday 7 February. You can still enter using the online Entry Form below.
