Ultimate test for Division 1 leaders at Waterloo

Veterans League

Preview of the fixtures in the Veterans 6-Man League scheduled for Monday 15 July

The Division 1 leaders are Marsh United A and that lead is in serious jeopardy this week as they travel to play at Waterloo who are just 6 points behind them in the table. Both teams are in good form but home advantage could be vital. Sat between the two adversaries is the form team of Shepley A who have won their last 8 fixtures and with a trip to play Brockholes A this week could find themselves closer than ever in the title race.

Although Clayton West are unbeaten all season having won all 14 of their fixtures they only have a 4-points lead over Bradley & Colne, who have lost 3 times, in the Division 2 table. Both the leading teams have away matches at bottom half teams this week with the leaders at Milnsbridge B and Bradley & Colne at Greenhead Park A. Third-placed Marsh Lib A also have an away fixture at Lindley Lib B.

At the foot of the table Greenhead Park and Milnsbridge B have two difficult fixtures are in danger of slipping into the drop zone as the bottom three face up to a battle to stay in the division. Elland C&BC continue to struggle and are now 12 points adrift of safety with only 2 points between the next 3 teams - Hemplow, Linthwaite Hall and Milnsbridge B.

Brockholes C could do their clubmates Brockholes B a favour by taking some Division 3 points off Denby Dale who they play on Monday. The Brockholes B team have a 7-points lead over the Denby Dale side and have an away match at Marsh United B this week. Meltham have won their last four matches but remain in the bottom two but a win at Thongsbridge B would surpass anything they have achieved this season so far.
