Veterans League
It is the first time for a long time that there have been two teams from Elland in the same Division in the 10-Man League. Maybe they will go that extra step forward to end up with both of them in the top Division for next season.

Division 2 this season features two yo-yo teams in Netherton Con A and Lindley BC A after both were relegated from Division 1 at the end of the 2024 season. The recent record of both teams is laid out below and shows the yo-yo record of both. The last time they both featured in Division 2 (2023) they were both promoted back into Division 1. However that has now been followed by an immediate return to Division 2. What are the odds that they will both make an immediate return to the top level?
NETHERTON CON A LINDLEY BC A
2024 Relegated from Div.1 Relegated from Div.1
2023 Promoted from Div.2 Promoted from Div.2
2022 4th in Div.2 Relegated from Div.1
Two new teams in Division 2 this season are the promoted pair from Division 3, Elland WMC and Denby Dale. It was a really good first season in the League for Elland WMC and they justified their inclusion in Division 3 by claiming the title and promotion. Well done to them. Denby Dale have improved on their final position every year since 2016 after starting in Division 5 that year. If that run continues further then they will be a strong threat to any other contender. However they were 13 points behind the Elland team so have a bit of catching up to do before they can be considered a live candidate for another promotion, this year maybe a year of consolidation.
We could even have an Elland Double for promotion as Elland C&BC finished 5 points off a promotion place last season and the prospect of a couple of Elland Derby matches should wet the appetite of any self-respecting bowler. New Mill A have finished in the top half of the Division 2 table every season since 2017 but never quite pushing up into the automatic promotion places. Is there any reason why that should change? Not in my book so more of the same then.
Broad Oak A and Golcar Lib B both finished last season with the same number of points as the relegated Linthwaite Hall team and both 17 points off safety. Seems a non-brainer to me that both will continue to struggle and have first claim on a relegation place.
TOP TIP: Elland WMC and Elland C&BC DROP TIP: Broad Oak A and Golcar Lib B
