Veterans League
Bob Swan clearly had some time on his hands so decided to undertake a bit of statistical analysis on the end-of-season totals from teams in Division 1 of the Veterans League. The table below shows the difference between the home and away records of all 14 teams in the top division. This shows that the 2023 Champions from Golcar Lib were true winners of the title after being the top-performing team at home and away last season.
Kirkheaton Con A had the second-best home record and Lockwood Con A were next best behind the Champions in the away points total.
Just looking at the colours shows how well teams perform at home and how badly away from home demonstrating the clear advantage of knowing your home green.
ALL teams playing at home , over the season, had a positive net number of points whilst only TWO teams had a positive net number of points when playing away.
