Winter League
Following on from the conclusion of the eight Division qualifying rounds of the Winter Cup we are now down to the Last 16 who will play down to the Quarter-Finalists on Sunday. The draw for this round was made at Milnsbridge BC after the final pair of qualifiers was known last month.
A quick look though the draw shows that the Division 1 qualifiers are both in the bottom half of the draw with Division 2 Shaun Irving the top ranked bowler in the top half. We are guaranteed a Holmfirth and Division 8 bowler through to Finals Day as Holmfirth teamates David Poole and Peter Sykes have been drawn against each other.
The Round of the Last 16 will be played at Netherton Con starting at 1.00pm on Sunday 30 March. Only one round of matches will be played on this day with the 8 winners progressing through to Finals Day which will be played at the same time and venue on Sunday 6 April.
Handicaps are introduced with effect from the Round of the Last 16 as below. There is one home bowler, Paul Winterburn, who carries a diminishing -3 handicap for the Last 16. This is balanced out by his Division 4 handicap of +2 so making him -1 (+2-3=-1) for that round only.
Should Paul progress he will have a -1 handicap (i.e. +2-2=0) for the quarter-finals and a +1 handicap (+2-1=+1) for the semi-finals.
