Winter League
Thorpe Green bowler Ian Briggs won the 2023 Winter Cup in April but never had the privilege of having it presented to him in front of League bowlers as the League's Presentation Event was held before the Winter Cup Finals Day.
That was all rectified at the League's Annual General Meeting when the trophy was presented to Ian in front of all the team representatives. Ian received the trophy and thanked Kirkheaton Con pair Tony Butterfield and Garry Senior for donating the silverware to the League.
The meeting heard that the intent is to use the same format in 2024 with the expectation that, with even more teams in the League, the number of entries will surpass last season's total of 104.
