The Yorkshire County Crown Green Bowling Association intend to hold its Annual General Meeting at 12.30pm on Saturday 24 February at Cleckheaton Sports. All clubs are entitled to send two representatives to the meeting but each club only has one vote. I understand that they do intend to issue a Balance Sheet in advance of the meeting for the first time in 4 years. This will be the first financial statement provided by the leading county body since before COVID.
A number of papers have been released as mentioned on the Agenda but some remain outstanding including those for item 6 on the Agenda - Financial Report & Accounts. They should be issued at least 7 days prior to the meeting as per Rule 3.5 and we will be adding them to the website when circulated.
Rule 3.5 The accounts of the association shall cover the years ending the 31st December, shall be verified and a copy of the Accounts and Balance Sheet sent to each Club or Association in membership, together with a notice of the Annual General Meeting at least 7 days prior to the date agreed upon by the Council.

In my experience of sporting organisations- football, cricket and bowls- the agenda and all reports are sent out together. The fact that the Accounts are not included leads me to assume that they mustn’t be ready. Will they be subsequently be sent out 7 days before the meeting in accordance with their rules ? Their track record in recent years suggests ‘No’.
