Two Lower Hopton bowlers represented Yorkshire in the final stages of the BCGBA Junior Merit at Mosborogh Miner's Welfare Club, Sheffield last Saturday. Jacob Hatfield Goodall getting all the way to the final before losing out to North Midland's Ronan Allen 14-21 who lifted the trophy, title and a place in the end-of-season BCGBA Champion-of-Champions event.
Jacob has still to appear in the Lower Hopton Mirfield League A team but tops the B team averages this year. Fellow Yorkshire qualifier Harley Tattersley is also a Lower Hopton bowler who has played regularly for the A team this season. Both clearly have good futures in the game.
