The Yorkshire Men's team continued their winning start to the 2024 BCGBA Senior County Championship with a big win over North Midlands on Sunday. An aggregate 448-377 win collected the two points on offer to keep them at the top of the Section 3 Round Robin table. There was a surprise result in the other Section 3 match where the 2023 Champions suffered a second defeat. After losing to Yorkshire, the Staffordshire team went down 416-417 to Merseyside to eliminate any hopes they had of successfully defending their title.
Elsewhere there was also a one-point difference in the Section 1 match between Derbyshire and Cumbria with the Cumbrians eventually edging it by 416-415. Greater Manchester continue to lead the way after a 458-411 win over Lancashire.
Warwick & Worcester are on course to win the Section 2 battle after seeing off Shropshire 440-408 and Wales amassed the biggest aggregate total of the day when beating Potteries & District 565-374.
The three-team Section 4 winners will play the Section 3 winners in the semi-finals and that will be decided on the last day as South Yorkshire and Cheshire will play off after South Yorkshire beat North Lancs & Fyles 457-389 to go level top with Cheshire.
